  • Pathum Thani province
  • Thailand

The Thai Education Foundation, Thai Health Promotion Foundation, the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) and Greenpeace Southeast Asia hosted an activity “We Grow – Sustainable School Lunch” at Wat Khum Kaew school in Pathum Thani province, a province in the north of Bangkok.

The event was also used to mark the official start of the Sustainable School Lunch Program. The program is aimed at promoting kindergarten and primary school lunches that are safe, nutritious, and made from ecological ingredients which are healthy for both for the students and the environment.

The activities at the event included a discussion titled “Can we make lunch safe for children and for the world?” and a competition between Patom Organic Living and a health-conscious vegetarian restaurant Tonklar Facai to show that menus made from ecological vegetables can be delicious and affordable.
