More than 20 local volunteer groups affiliated with Greenpeace France began raising awareness among young parents about the overconsumption of animal protein in several cities in France in a National Day Of Action.

The “Coup de Fourchette” informed passers-by with fact-based flyers and offered free vegetarian food. At the same time, activists gave each visitor a chance to discover recipes without meat and dairy products and to sign a national petition to have two vegetarian menus a week in the canteen as a national policy.

Offering delicious, free veggie food was a good way to engage the public and kids especially seemed interested in the future of food. The Day Of Action was picked up by several French media outlets.
